Important results from the project
The purpose of this pilot study was to determine whether the prerequisites exist to develop an online media agency. This was accomplished by a series of interviews with media buyers in the intended target group of the service, with media groups that are potential suppliers and by surveying possible competitors. All interviews were positive. The media groups want to sign agreements with us, give us a reasonable compensation, and are at a good technical level. The customers can see a need for our service and want to use it. Several of the customers even want to be part of our group of beta testers.
Expected long term effects
Since the pilot study has been carried out according to plan, the results of the study and the fulfilment of the goal are more or less identical. When it comes to the expected effects of the study, the overwhelmingly positive response we have received during the execution has increased the chances that we want to make this project come true. We could also see that the media buyers were more interested in reports and statistics than what we originally thought. We will incorporate this in the future project.
Approach and implementation
In our study, excluding the parts mentioned above, we have interviewed representatives for industry associations (Sveriges Mediebyråer, Sveriges Tidskrifter). A lot of important information concerning factors such as Adblockers, Programmatic and RTB came to light. Questions were added to the interviews during time, since early interviews showed that certain areas needed a closer look (reports). We also collected key figures from Bolagsverket concerning media agencies that are members of the industry association Sveriges Mediebyråer to survey their turnover, revenues etc.
