Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Ocean Data Factory (ODF) had the following objectives: - increase the use of data from the ocean, - increase maritime actors´ competence in APIs, and use of AI, - create sustainability in the blue economy. We have taken important steps during the project towards these objectives. Above all, we have established ODF as Sweden´s national marine data lab. ODF is the arena where actors meet to collaborate on digitalisation in the marine domain, and to find solutions using AI and machine learning.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** ODF has linked actors who above all have marine domain competence with actors who above all have great competence in data and AI. This has proved very fruitful and has perhaps been the most important reason why we have achieved results in a short time. ODF has shown marine actors how to use machine learning and AI to reach much further through the right partners. We have also shown experts in data and AI what opportunities there are in the blue economy, and what a collaboration with marine domain experts can look like.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Ocean Data Factory (ODF) has gathered a large number of parties with an interest in marine data. The parties have been from industry, authorities and academia. The parties have jointly defined objective and implemented a series of four short mini-project (innovation cycles). The innovation cycles have been planned for periods of six months. The innovation cycles all focus on issues of importance to the marine environment. All cycles have machine learning as a component, and also an open component, where we have invited externals to contribute.
