Important results from the project
The aim has been to use proactive sound analysis to prevent crime and streamline the efforts of blue light personnel. A major challenge in the project has been to identify and annotate relevant sounds and to measure in COVID-19 times how our thinking system is experienced by its users and the public. The project´s most important results is an efficient sound identification and annotation method with associated hardware that in sharp mode has been shown to work according to plan. The intended measurements of how the system is experienced have not been possible due to COVID-19.
Expected long term effects
Results and expected effects could not be measured in the intended way as the project was hampered by COVID-19. Furthermore, Lund Municipality was hard hit by school fires, which meant that their resources were hard hit and thus reduced their ability to participate. However, had our system been installed at several schools, several fires could certainly have been avoided.
Approach and implementation
The project has developed a proactive sound analysis method to prevent crime and streamline the efforts of blue light personnel. COVID-19 has more or less made it impossible to make planned measurements of how our thinking system is perceived by users and the general public. The assessment is that the implementation plan would have worked well if not for COVID-19.
