Important results from the project

The aim of the project was to create a communication method to: promote dialogue between municipalities, civil society organizations and the public about their need for and access to information in a crisis situation, create an increased awareness among the public of their own responsibilities, abilities and shortcomings in the event of a crisis, create guidance and initiatives for the public to develop better crisis preparedness based on their life situations, conditions and needs, countering normative assumptions in crisis communication aimed at different target groups.

Expected long term effects

The project resulted in a quiz game that is used as a dialogue and communication tool in professional or private contexts. It can be played by private individuals in conversations about Covid-19 with family and friends or by crisis communicators in conversations with residents, authorities, care recipients, etc. When we collectively reflect on our experiences, it becomes clear what we have learned from living and working during a time when life is put on hold and how these experiences can strengthen our preparedness for possible future crises.

Approach and implementation

The implementation of the project included a feasibility study to create a view of the field (interviews, national survey study, literature review) with subsequent design and development workshops conducted together with our partners. The quiz went through five iterations and tests and was published in a digital format to download and as a limited edition board game. The results of the feasibility study and the implementation have been reported and analyzed in a series of reports and articles.
