Status | Completed |
Important results from the project
A cargo door demonstrator with integrated composite structure including a new electro-mechanical system for operating the cargo door has been developed and demonstrated. This advanced composite technology , both in materials and production methods can reduce airframe weight of a commercial aircraft and a electromechanical system for operating the door will eliminate the need for hydraulic fluids. Many of the technologies developed in the project will be further developed within the Clean Sky 2 and SWE Demo projects or implemented in production and new products.
Expected long term effects
The project was performed in 10 sub-projects with the interaction between the sub-projects and participating organizations. The project started with the concept work on the demonstrators, and the parallel development of technologies. A second call for applications and additional funds in 2013 enabled a door demonstrator in full scale. A review of the project in August 2014 confirmed the trend towards a door demonstrator. The project has completed two demonstration days, a Laxå in September 2015 focusing on production technologies and a final demonstration in Linköping in March 2016
