Important results from the project
Despite the many challenges which we faced for the last two years during the pandemic the project is a success. 1.We have developed affordable, simple and scalable composition for our phagostimulant stimulant molecule. We also had developed a new generation of the product and 2.We have secured new IP and developed an IP strategy for our existing pattern portfolio and know how. 4.We have established new research and business corporations which allows us to go to market faster and expand the geographical potential of the products.
Expected long term effects
Due to the pandemic and restrictions, we were unable to conduct open field studies with external partners. Therefore we were forced to pivot the project focusing on development/refinement of attractant and phagostimulant technology. Our plant based, sustainable and affordable solution attracts and force feeds three main groups / families of mosquitoes (Anopheles, Aedes and Culex), making it an applicable product not only in Africa but also in Asia Europe and Americas. Secondary outcome was a refined and long term IP, market and business model strategy involving multiple partners.
Approach and implementation
As mentioned before initial design and implementation plan depended heavily on international cooperation which, from q1 2020 became virtually impossible almost to this day.
