Important results from the project
The aim has been to, in collaboration with actors and stakeholders, identify needs and solutions for competitive and profitable production of organic produce and products. A plan has been designed for description of potential solutions for various challenges with a focus on methods for increased primary production, manufacturing and processing, and environmental assessment. We consider that in order to ensure the requried knowledge and innovations and to take advantage of the high market potential full out, a more concrete plan and solutions to the various problems are needed.
Expected long term effects
- The results will lead to a sustainable ecological production through the development of new technologies, new products, better logistics and process solutions, new business and increased competitiveness and exports. - Identification and development of priority solutions for increased availability of organic produce and products. Expected impact after step 2: More sustainable and competitive production of new organic products on Swedish and international markets and solutions that contribute to efficient handling and processing and lower energy consumption and wastage.
Approach and implementation
- Implementation-mapping of actors and existing networks -Identification of needs and idea development-research/industry competencies, innovation processes - Knowledge transfer from ongoing/completed research projects - Identification of market needs and new opportunities. - Development of a project plan for the solutions with great potential on the basis of the opportunities and needs for resource-efficient distribution, process and logistics solutions for increased availability of organic plant raw materials and products. - Preparation of draft project agreement
