Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to establish a network of government agencies at various levels of government in Sweden, in order to share knowledge and experience around innovation procurement. The goal of the network was to promote an increased knowledge within the area; identifying obstacles, possibilities and appropriate actions, sharing of knowledge and experiences of innovation procurement and spreading these results to relevant actors. The now established network has evaluated the project´s s in light of these goals.
Expected long term effects
The main result of the project is that the established network will continue its activities and the planning committee has already set a date for the next network meeting in September 2013, hosted by Region Skåne. The project has also contributed to more knowledge, insights and institutional learning around innovation procurement in Sweden. The seminars conducted by the network have increased the awareness of the possibilities as well as the problems associated with innovation procurement, both within the network and to a broader range of actors.
Approach and implementation
The project was structured as a network with a planning committee, where representatives of the participating organisations shared responsibility for content and activities. The operative and coordinating duties were performed by a project manager (part time 12h/week), who also organised the seminars and activities decided by the planning committee. During the 18 month long project, the network organised three national seminars, the planning committee met seven times and the webpage was continuously updated.
