Purpose and goal
For future networks to enable digitalisation of new areas, including critical applications, new network services and improvement of basic network properties such as robustness and security are needed. NEXSoS will evaluate how different actors and systems can cooperate, share data, and create a common situational awareness in the chosen situation, forest fire fighting, in accordance with current legislation for data privacy and data sharing. The objective is to prepare Sweden´s digital infrastructure for new critical use cases and technology applications for society,
Expected effects and result
NEXSoS is expected to develop new skills and knowledge to enable improved situational awareness in the selected emergency situation such as e.g. network readiness for socially critical application, data exchange architectures (in accordance with current laws and regulations), and mobile network support for extended reality (XR). The developed architecture is expected to be applicable in a broader societal critical perspective, e.g. rescue, ambulance and police efforts. The results are also expected to be applicable to industry and direct consumer applications.
Planned approach and implementation
The project work within NEXSoS is planned to be carried out through 7 work packages covering project management, requirement setting, design, development, demonstrations and information dissemination, in accordance with the project description. To ensure requirements are correct, (end)user workshops will be organized annually. Current legislation and rules for data sharing and data confidentiality will also be taken into account. NEXSoS has a steering group consisting of each participant (excluding MSB at its own request) + Vinnova, which will meet regularly,
