Purpose and goal
The Net Zero Industry Program aims to accelerate the development of Swedish industry towards net zero emissions. The focus is on two central areas, resource efficiency and resilience. The goal is to support and accelerate the ambitious and bold environmental and climate goals set by companies in the Swedish manufacturing industry. The principal of the program is Teknikföretagen, together with RISE. The actors agree behind a mission-driven way of working, starting with the establishment of program offices and initiation of industrial projects and calls for proposals.
Expected effects and result
Decided efforts must support and accelerate measures to reach the environmental and climate goals set by the Swedish manufacturing industry. This in order to realize the goals, but also to strengthen Swedish industry´s competitiveness. The program engages the sectors within industry that have the greatest effect on the transition towards net zero, such as vehicles, machinery, energy, telecommunications, electronics and defence. In addition, academia, research institutes, regions and organizations with a large impact on industry are mobilized to have further impact.
Planned approach and implementation
The program´s principal is Teknikföretagen, together with RISE. Its organization consists of board of directors, program office, program forum and arena. Central roles in the program office are Program management, Transition and evaluation management, R&D coordination, Communication, Competence development, Internationalisation as well as efforts for SMEs and start-ups. The start takes place by establishing a program office, then industrial projects and calls for proposals are initiated. Ongoing efforts within SIPs are also taken up and utilized by the program.
