Important results from the project
The purpose of the project has been to create a national platform to simplify and reduce the costs for other incubators to set up and run business angel co-investment schemes with Saminvest. The goals for the project have been to document methods, processes and best practices as well as spread this information to other incubators to ease and decrease cost for their setup as well as share practical experiences. The project delivers its purpose and reach the goals to ease the process for other incubators.
Expected long term effects
The project simplifies the procedure and reduces costs for setting up and operating an co-investment scheme (ÄIB), which means that more incubators can set up an ÄIB. The project has created a stronger network between incubators that work with financing issues and exchange of experiences will take place even after the project. More incubators now understand what it means to set up an ÄIB and can more easily assess whether it fits their incubator. This leads to the project´s most important effect - improved financing of Swedish startups to which the project clearly contributes.
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out in close collaboration between MINC, ABI and Sting. Each project partner has contributed based on their different experiences and structures. Substantial learnings have been created within the project group. The combination of workshops for several incubators combined with individual meetings has worked well. Recorded webinars allowed the incubators to take part of the information afterwards, which has been much appreciated. Since 2020 has been characterized by Covid-19, the work in the later parts of the project has been completely digital.
