Important results from the project

The feasibility study was aimed at, prior to the planned continued work in the main project of Phase 2, investigating (i) market conditions, (ii) resource and financing requirements for (ii) particle synthesis, (iii) prototype production of nano additive-enhanced carbon fiber composite, and (iv) validation of properties. The work consisted of planning, theoretical studies and calculations, identification and investigation of appropriate processes, as well as interviews of potential customers, suppliers and partners in the chemical, automotive and aerospace industries.

Expected long term effects

The result of WP1 shows that the interest in the product as expected is very high and that there is generally a need for the lightweight solutions made possible by the product, especially for airline industry end-users. The result of WP2 indicate feasibility of the continued work in the planned phase 3 follow-up project. The results of AP3 and AP4 indicate feasibility of it continue work in the planned main project in phase 2.

Approach and implementation

The implementation of the project has followed the planned layout according to the application for Phase 1 with four work packages over five months: Investigation of market conditions; Investigation of resource requirements for particle synthesis; Investigation of resource requirements for prototype production; Investigation of resource needs prior to validation.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
