Important results from the project
Aim of the project: How can an efficient digital infrastructure support more efficient operation in industrial supply-chains? Goal of phase II: - Based on proposed system architecture (phase I) demonstrate the semantic data model and linked data (Internet of Logistics) - Evalute and analyse potential for increased precision in the flow of information by adding new data sources and to integrate into the system service - Further analyse suggestions and principles on governance including data security to support a fullscale implementation - Spread knowledge
Expected long term effects
Results from the demonstration reveals a great potential in creating better insights on the physical operation of the supply-chain. The system service provides a summarised and updated situational awareness on activities in the supply-chain and opens up possibilities for joint proactvie decisions for the gain of the supply-chain performance. Proposed KPI intends to reflect expectations that a more efficient provide of informations is intended to support. However, the true potential only becomes realised once an integration of more actors in the supply-chain is performed.
Approach and implementation
Fas II has been implemented in collaboration between industry partners, public authorities and research players with the goal of creating and securing an independent and neutral system service for sharing supply-chain intelligence. This has meant that industrial know-how and expertise have contributed with solutions that have been matched to neutral actors in the form of RISE and CLOSER. This contributes to a transparent model for implementation and which also leads to results being disseminated to other relevant actors in the transport and logistics sector.
