Important results from the project

The purpose of the project has been to determine if the sensor is able to measure movements in the tool and to determine its position. The goal was to determine that the technology works and to obtain relevant measurement data and to visualize the data in real time into a cloud-based web interface in the factory environment. The goal has been achieved and challenges have been identified as the basis for the next version that is now underway.

Expected long term effects

During the project, the sensor has been tested in a factory environment and found that the intended technology works and that there is a great deal of interest in potential customers. We have also discovered some challenges, for example, by sending data. The factory environment tests have worked, but we have had challenges with sensor-to-cloud solutions, where process data is visualized when we have run tests in a factory environment.

Approach and implementation

1. Further development hardware - POC 1, new components and shell (3D print). 2. Development software and programming for communication between the POC (sensor) and the cloud. 3. Test 1 in Factory - Collection of Process Data on Local Server. 4. Manufacturing of a mobile demo system with electrically driven linear unit as well as attachment for the sensor so that it is possible to view and develop software for the system in the office environment. 5. Presentation for OEM customer in June 2018. 6. Further development of POC 1 and interface for visualization 7. Test 2 in factory in November 2018.
