Important results from the project

The project has shown that mobility wallet services can be implemented with existing technology, and that they can act as a catalyst to increase supply and demand for shared mobility services and be an important tool for employers, property owners and public actors to create incentives through different types of subsidies. In a broad constellation of actors, the project has, among other things, developed a "blueprint" for three open, scalable solutions based on today´s established and secure payment system, as well as a market research, needs analysis and ecosystem description.

Expected long term effects

The project has identified three solutions based on the existing payment system that which can be implemented directly or with relatively limited development efforts: The solutions prepaid card, linked payment and tokenization all allow a control and reporting of how subsidies are used, are user-friendly and require, except in one case no adaptation by the mobility providers. The latter two have great development potential. There is no need for a new central technical or operational hub, but for some standardization and system suppliers.

Approach and implementation

The project has taken its starting point in environmental and needs analyses, and has, in a series of workshops, mapped the ecosystem and the opportunities, risks and changed roles that the actors see. With use cases, key features have been identified and prioritized to select and compare possible solutions. The consortium has consisted of need owners in the form of employers and property owners, public and commercial mobility providers as well as platform providers in payment, data sharing and benefits management
