Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The aim of the project is to achieve a faster transformation towards increased resource efficiency and reduced car travel by introducing mobility solutions that enable the conversion of parking areas in existing residential areas into new homes and better living environments. With the support of research and case studies, the project has developed transport-efficient mobility solutions and urban development that adds more housing and more greenery in four common city types. The project also presents strategies and tools for implementation.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Enriched neighborhoods have increased knowledge about the potential in introducing mobility solutions in different typologies, like reduced car traffic, improved living environment and more housing in todays parking areas. The project also increases knowledge about challenges and presents strategies and tools to make land use more efficient. The project´s results have been compiled in a handbook that can serve as planning and decision support as well as inspiration for municipalities, property owners, housing operators and politicians.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has been run by Nyréns, Trivector, RISE and KTH with the support of a project group with housing actors who followed the project closely in the aim of sharing knowledge and experiences, generating ideas, developing concepts, evaluating solutions and anchoring and spreading the project´s results. Case studies with urban planning concepts and mobility solutions have been carried out in four city types. Potential and challenges have been analysed. Obstacles have been identified and implementation tools developed in different areas.
