Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project´s aim was to ensure that Svemin´s member companies can meet the goal of increased biological diversity by 2030 at the latest according to the joint roadmap "Mining with Nature". With completed activities during this project, conditions have been created and support offered for the companies to implement new strategies, working methods and routines for biodiversity. Training, increased awareness and clear guidelines have enabled companies to adjust to achieve increased biodiversity by 2030
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The mining industry has a major impact on biological diversity, through the conversion of habitat into industrial areas and emissions to air and water. If Svemins member companies can reduce their impact and contribute to increased biological diversity it would result in environmental gains. The mining industry is now better equipped to work in a strategic and systematic way with biodiversity. Expected effects are a strengthened reputation among stakeholders such as investors and local residents, as well as providing inspiration to other actors.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The initial focus of the project was to get all the material for the biodiversity training in place. Therefore, we started with conducting a test shoot, updating the training portal and developing workshop materials. At the turn of the year 2024, the focus shifted to implementation of the trainings and workshops, as well as a greater focus on developing prioritized guidelines. Communication via various events took place continuously. The critical review was carried out completely separately and delivered at the final stage of the project.
