Important results from the project
The goal of the feasibility study was to perform an in-depth investigation of all relevant topics for Log pulverising system entry to European market such as: confirming customer’s interest, analysing technical feasibility, studying the potential market segments, confirming the business model/risks/barriers and estimating costs/sales price/financial feasibility. The outcome was a commercialization strategy & business plan for the SME- Instrument Phase 2 where the application was submitted.
Expected long term effects
The expected effect of the project is to minimise the electricity consumption in the production process of biofuel by about 75% and contributing to reduce biofuel cost for the user by -20% compared to pellets. We also aim to demonstrate an efficient solution for fossil fuel conversion to biomass (wood powder) since the wood powder directly can replace fossile fuels. The verification of the effects will take place in the demonstration project that will follow.
Approach and implementation
The project were executed by the team of Klingmill with the help from external experts. The project consisted of one work package with the following 5 tasks: Technical Feasibility, Commercial Feasibility, IPR and Freedom to Operate, Financial Plan and Business Plan. The project was performed according to plan with satisfactory results.
