Important results from the project
The MeWe&You app offers women going through menopause the opportunity to track their symptoms daily and be individually matched to digital activities designed to alleviate their unique symptoms. The purpose of this study was to examine whether the use of the app is associated with improvements in menopausal symptoms, work ability, stress, and overall well-being in working women. The goal is to use the collected data to further develop MeWe&You, our support offering for women in the workplace and their employers, which we now believe we can achieve.
Expected long term effects
The study results show a statistically significant improvement in participants´ emotional, mental, and cognitive symptoms, as well as a reduction in stress during menopause. Mental health also included cognitive symptoms such as brain fog, memory problems, difficulty concentrating, and mood swings, all of which are known to affect work ability. All of these symptoms improved through the activities in the MeWe&You app.
Approach and implementation
Participants: Women who provided symptom data in the app over a 6-week period. Selection: Recruitment via social media, newsletters, and companies. Selection criteria included working women aged 45 to 55, in the hormonal phase of peri/menopause with symptoms. Method: Pre-post longitudinal cohort study with statistical analysis of survey responses. Implementation: Survey responses were collected at the start, after 3 weeks, and after 6 weeks to evaluate symptom changes. Data: Anonymized and analyzed data from MeWe&You app users.
