Important results from the project
Aims and objectives of ´Medicinteknikdagarna´ is to increase interest in biomedical engineering in healthcare, academia and industry by bringing together all stakeholders, such as biomedical engineers/scientists, medical device companies, representatives of health care, government, and the country´s clusters in biomedical engineering (for example LfMT, CMTF , CTMH, MedTech West). During MTD participants should be able to get the state-of-the-art regarding new medical devices, research frontier, and to participate in courses aimed for biomedical engineers.
Expected long term effects
Swedish Society for Biomedical Engineering and Physics (MTF) conducted on 5-6 October 2016 its annual conference (Medicinteknikdagarna 2016) in Örebro. Presentations were given in the form of five lectures in plenary sessions, 71 oral presentations in various parallel sessions and 11 posters. The Swedish Minister for Higher Education and Research, Helene Hallmark Knutsson, presented the Swedish Government´s views on research and development in the area of Life science and biomedical engineering. Detailed program for the conference is available on www.mtf.se
Approach and implementation
Medicinteknikdagarna, MTD, is one of Sweden´s most important meeting places for biomedical engineering and technology. The program offers everything from advanced science to interesting practical applications in health care.
