Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was both to increase the interest of small companies in taking in graduate workers and to increase the interest of civil engineering students in working with graphene and other 2D materials. Through the project, four master thesis projects have been completed.
Expected long term effects
One of SIO Grafens impact goals is "2D materials are an industrial area of strength". In order to achieve the goal, the 2D-material companies must be able to grow by attracting talents. The project has given four students the opportunity to complete a master thesis project at a company and resulted in several permanent positions. The people who did not stay in the companies have acquired valuable skills and can act as ambassadors for 2D materials in their new roles. SIO Grafen continues with the offer to support master thesies work in another project "Svenskt hållbart grafen".
Approach and implementation
The project created a offer to apply support for a maximum of SEK 40,000 for the implementation of a master thesis project. The company itself had to bear the same cost as the financing via SIO Grafen. The offer has been announced via SIO Grafen´s communication channels such as the website siografen.se and social media. After application and approval, the thesis has been completed at the company.
