Important results from the project

The project´s aim was to map the challenges of municipalities and regions with regard to transport infrastructure and also to look at the opportunities for utilizing commitment and initiatives. Another aim with the project was to find new partners and arenas for the upcoming projects within the program. The objective was to gain insight into the challenges of municipalities and regions in their role as owner of transport infrastructure and to identify opportunities that exist for new innovations based on the needs of municipalities and regions.

Expected long term effects

The project´s results show that: - The municipalities common challenge is how to make it happen. - Everyone is open to being parties to innovation projects - For continued work you should preferably focus on the municipalities because the regions has limited access to its hard infrastructure. - The program will seek out municipalities and disseminate good examples The effects of the project are better knowledge, the ability to adapt the program´s upcoming project and potentially new partners and arenas for the program to work in.

Approach and implementation

The project has been conducted as an interview study with officials and politicians from 10 municipalities, 5 regions and SKL. A total of 19 officials and 8 politicians have been interviewed. Based on the interviews, the major challenges of the municipalities and regions have been identified and discussion carried out on how these can be remedied with the help of innovations. Possible "dream innovations" have also been discussed. Finally, there has been discussion about awareness of SIPar and their opportunity to contribute.
