Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to create a database of information to help users to identify, learn about and choose suitable materials, processing methods and suppliers. The amount of fact registered were less than planned, but the project yielded many new insights into the content and features demanded by users. The goal therefore revised slightly along the way to accommodate the development of these which will provide a better service at full launch.
Expected long term effects
The result of the project was launched according to plan, a test version of the service with the purpose to gather additional feedback about the content and features for continued development. Being able to present a test version has, as expected, given us the opportunity to draw attention to the project which is important for further collaborations and to be able to secure additional content and future revenues.
Approach and implementation
The project period was extended during the project because suppliers had problems delivering at the rate requested. Besides that, the project followed the planned activities and budget. The development cost of systems and operations was slightly higher than planned but this was balanced by lower expenses for the registration of schedule.
