Important results from the project

The purpose of the prestudy was to compile research in the fields of innovation and innovation management. The purpose of this compilation was to add perspectives on how innovation processes and identify need of further research. This was met through a literature study and interviews, which were presented in a report.

Expected long term effects

The prestudy presented a compilation of research literature within the field of innovation management and results from an interview study on the professionals’ reasoning about innovation. A comparison of these studies gave an indication on which perspectives and components that could strengthen innovation processes. Expected effects were recommendations to different roles. The outcome is that knowledge from the study is spread through planning of an innovation competition and through participation in an innovation cluster, both run by strategic innovation programs.

Approach and implementation

The prestudy was initiated with a literature study that was conducted according to plan. The interview study was not planed initially; it was conducted instead of the initially planned workshop on the advice of the reference group. Therefore, the comparison of the interviews and the literature study was not planned initially either, it was a consequence of the interview study. Both the interview study and comparison have added to the results and value of the prestudy.
