Important results from the project
Malmö Innovationsarena provided resources and opportunities in ongoing planning processes in Malmö to promote innovation and sustainable urban development. The project has - built cross-sector collaborations - developed, tested and disseminated solutions, methods and concepts to existing needs in the city - contributed with new roles in Malmö´s urban development - contributed with new methods to enable innovation - contributed with concept development regarding sharing of things, surfaces and functions, sustainable new construction and housing supply for the future
Expected long term effects
Collaboration for sustainable urban development in Malmö Innovationsarena has resulted in closer and more collaborations with Malmö residents, construction companies, property owners and local businesses. The development of Kunskapsallians, Smarta Kartan, social term when allocating municipal land are examples of what the project facilitated. More examples of results: - 134 actors involved - 51 property owners and builders participated - 26 activities with inclusive working methods - 13 innovations tested in collaboration with property owners - 8 forms of learning tested
Approach and implementation
Malmö Innovationsarena has worked in ongoing planning processes in Malmö´s northeastern parts, e.g. Amiralsstaden, Botildenborg, Södra Kirseberg and Sege Park. The areas are close to the new train line and were chosen because of the development potential in these station-close areas. The project was coordinated by the Environment department with participation from City Planning Office, Real Estate and Street Office, Labor market and social department, Preschool department, Elementary school deparment and Culture department.
