Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to offer the consumers a wider range of lupin-based products. In the project, this was achieved by developing customised production tools to make the production more efficient and to research and develop different flavouring and shapes for a different usage of our existing product. The goals were met: the tools being researched, were significantly improved and tested in production; new products in shape and flavouring were researched and developed successfully.
Expected long term effects
The project resulted in the development of customised tools that will allow Lupinta to improve the efficiency of the production process on a larger scale. It also resulted in the development of further products to be commercialised. Both these results will allow Lupinta to expand its product portfolio and offer consumers a wider range of choices of locally produced lupin-based products.
Approach and implementation
A thorough analysis regarding the method for conventional production of tempeh was made, each step was broken down into its core components. The conventional method was tested in a number of production rounds, afterwards the steps with the most manual labour were analyzed for improvement and tool development. The tools that are developed will allow Lupinta to scale up existing and future production and enable the production of several flavors and shapes.
