Important results from the project
The long-term aim of the project has been to enable increased automation in companies that doesn’t have high volume production but more varied production and thereby increase the competitiveness. The objectives have been to create and disseminate experience-based guidelines for flexible production with automation. The objectives have been met to a large extent.
Expected long term effects
The main results from the project are in the form of a Guide, a research paper and two master thesis works. The results cover the intended scope of the project. Expected long-term effects are increased competitiveness for Swedish manufacturing industry by increased use of automation for low volume high mix production.
Approach and implementation
The research work has been conducted through 5 work packages with different focus and time frames. Several case studies have been performed as well as different targeted development activities. During the last year, a large focus has been put on development and realization of results dissemination. The large diversity regarding project partners and activities have made the planning and leading of the project challenging.
