Important results from the project

LOVIS´ aim was to contribute to the competitiveness, resilience and sustainability of manufacturing companies by mapping, investigating and demonstrating solutions for logistic visibility, for increased dynamic capability and resource efficiency. The goal was to work on two levels, both with visibility in internal logistics and visibility in supply chains. The work was to be summarized in a unified framework for Logistic Visibility.

Expected long term effects

Results and effects in the long and short term: - Research results, published and presented in theses, journals, reports and at conferences. - Industrial tests and demonstrations. - Seminars, not least after LOVIS was included in IVA´s 100 list in 2021. - The module "Global Production and Digital Supply Chain" within Ingenjör4.0 with KTH, LU and Chalmers, as well as the extension of the module during 2023. - Increased collaboration KTH, Chalmers and LU. Another project "Logistic Visibility for Circularity - LOVIS4C" started. - Results into education at KTH, LU and Chalmers.

Approach and implementation

The consortium consist of two OEMs, Scania and AstraZeneca, an information systems partner, Odette, and universities KTH, LU and Chalmers. The work has focused needs from Scania and AstraZeneca, with tests as Scania. Four major studies have been conducted: - State of the art study leading to a comprehensive overview of supply chain visibility. - A Delphi study on managerial perspectives and priorities of supply chain visibility. - Industrial test of solutions for real time data gathering in inbound supply chain. - Demonstration of Blockchain framework for supply chain collaboration.
