Purpose and goal
Companies in the metal industry are often located in rural areas, which creates challenges regarding recruitment and the attractiveness of workplaces. The project aims to develop a collaborative model between the firms and the public sector to create attractive places to live and work in. Through workshops and pilot groups, we will identify obstacles and solutions for competence provision. The result is a report with tools and policy recommendations.
Expected effects and result
The goal of the project is to find a concrete way to work in collaboration around competence provision that is relevant to the local and regional business life. The expected effect in the medium and long term is therefore that the companies on the site are a well-integrated part of the local and regional work on the location´s attractiveness. And that the public sector is seen as a natural collaboration partner for the firms regarding issues related to the competence provision.
Planned approach and implementation
We use an action-oriented, iterative and interactive approach that has proven successful for complex problems. This means that the entire project group works in three learning cycles with two-month intervals for so-called learning workshops. In these joint workshops, all actors will participate actively reporting e.g. activities, challenges, obstacles and opportunities. Between workshops, each participant works with development work and "homework" linked to the project´s objectives.
