Project duration June 2017 - July 2019
Status Completed

Important results from the project

In this project, Lingio has in cooperation with several large corporations and trade organisations had the goal to produce digital courses in professional Swedish for several industries, where there is an obvious desire to hire people with foreign background and where good knowledge in industry-specific Swedish helps to speed up their entry into the labor market, or that they can better manage their current jobs.

Expected long term effects

The result is that we have produced several digital and interactive language courses in professional Swedish for the following industries: property, IT, software, hotel, catering, cleaning, bus driver. The outcome (and expected effects) are that foreign born recruits and newly hires have been studying these courses, been able to improve their professional language, and pointed out that they better can manage their daily tasks at work.

Approach and implementation

The project group has had a close cooperation in order to produce course material that is relevant for entire industries. In that way e.g., the course in bus driver Swedish can be used by all bus companies in Sweden in order to educate recruits and trainees. Lingio’s Swedish teachers and writers have worked in cooperation with industry experts during the production, e.g. several bus drivers where involved in the development of the bus course, and the same holds for all other courses produced in this project.
