Lignofuel: Green Technology for conversion of lignin to bio-fuel and valuable products

Important results from the project

The over goal of the project was to verify the technology platform developed for the utilization of lignin into sustainable high-value products. The environmentally friendly catalytic process enables the conversion of lignin into products such as biofuel, biomaterials and fine chemicals (the focus of this project was the business model conversion to biofuel). The purpose was also to verify the commercial aspect of the technology, set up a business model, identify the market as well as the market potential, initiate a dialog with potential customers, partners and initiate business.

Expected long term effects

The project enabled us to verify customer requirements, the market / market potential and its commercial potential. This gave us the opportunity to verify our technology in close cooperation with the end customer, which has promoted the project. Furthermore, we got an idea of what the customer requires in order to start a business and we are convinced that in the near future this will lead to a deal with the end customer. To sum up, this project has increased the maturity of our technology and has taken this one step closer to commercialization.
