Important results from the project
The goal has been to establish a network that develops new methods for better product optimization in the early stages of product development. The project has developed skills, processes, methods and tools for optimization-driven development by arranging four workshops, creating and implementing master theses Projects and initiating applications for R&D-project in product optimization for various calls. In discussions, it has been clarified what common challenges there are. The project has also created a web course and contributed to the updating of the Lightweight Agenda.
Expected long term effects
We have established a cross-industry network with companies, academia and research institutes. We have created and reported new master thesis projects within product optimization. We have initiated and coordinated project applications within product optimization. We have contributed to formulations in The Lightweight Agenda 2019 on more efficient development methods. We have conducted four workshops. We have made a state-of-the-art description of product optimization. We have developed a web-based course in product optimization for LIGHTer Industrikurser.
Approach and implementation
LIGHTer Produktoptimering has arranged two workshops per year to create and report master thesis projects. A state-of-the-art has been made which formed the basis for both discussions with SIP LIGHTers board and the updating of the Lightweight Agenda 2019. A web-based course has been developed. The project plan has been followed in all material respects. There has been a certain time lag in the project partly due to Corona. There is great interest in further developing LIGHTer Produktoptimering.
