Important results from the project

The purpose of the project has been to identify the mutual needs from f.i. rescue services. The needs should work as the basis for a technical solution to quickly mobilize volunteers and in some cases be able to coordinate the volunteers on site. An initial definition of the needs was made through interviews and joint workshop activity. During the mapping phase of the project work, the team discovered an almost fully developed platform for mobilizing volunteers. This resulted in a huge step forward for the whole process and the tool has been tested on real cases.

Expected long term effects

In addition to the initial definition of the needs, the results of the project have exceeded the expectations. Already in this phase, a tool has been shown and tested with components that in the long run could meet several needs in terms of mobilizing volunteers and also coordinate these on site. Digital tools for bringing in voluntary efforts are also in line with MSB´s work with ELS. (Enhetligt Ledningssystem) to be presented in the spring of 2021.

Approach and implementation

ase. In the project, personnel on emergency services has been interviewed. The interviews together with a workshop have been the basis for a common picture of needs for mobilization and coordination of voluntary efforts. The project has also carried out an analysis of existing tools that could be used to mobilize and coordinate volunteers. During the mapping of tools, a relevant concept was found and the tool has been tested on real cases.
