Important results from the project
The main idea behind the pilot Leadership Lab is to translate research on innovation management into practice. By creating a temporary platform, a ´lab´, researchers, intermediates, and organizations from the public sector could meet in order to jointly develop models, methods and tools for innovation management. The researchers´ role was to provide research-based knowledge about innovation management, the intermediates were tasked to develop and test new services for innovation management, and public sector organisations were recipients of these services.
Expected long term effects
Ledarskapslabbet has had two main objectives. One was to adapt and test scientifically based models for innovation management in the public sector. The goal was to produce new services for innovation management that targets the public sector. The second goal was to experiment with forms of knowledge transfer between the research community and management consultants on the subject of innovation management. We believe that both objectives are met. Four services for innovation management has been developed in collaboration with researchers and organizations from the public sector.
Approach and implementation
Participants took part in joint activities combined with own development work. The first lab meeting gathered all the participants and introduced them to the project objectives and work process. The second lab meeting gathered only the intermediaries, who gave feedback on each other´s service ideas. Also the researchers gave feedback. The third lab meeting was a halftime meeting which brought together all the participants. At the fourth and final lab session intermediaries presented their new services and received feedback from representatives from SKL.
