Important results from the project
Learner has been running test with users that initially showed good results. The students used the system and received help. The artificial intelligence was able to answer questions, although it required a significant amount of manual intervention. We have tested an approach based on multiple choice input, allowing the service to function in an end-to-end way, but there is still more development required for a commercial grade product.
Expected long term effects
The artificial intelligence works, although it is still not a standalone service. In parallel with the project, the market was examined and evaluated. The test version of the product was presented to users and alternatives for commercialisation were evaluated. Unfortunately, the results show a low willingness to pay, which decreases the chance to scaling operations and achieving commercial breakthrough. Therefore, there´s a need to find alternative ways for financing to reach a successful product for commercial use.
Approach and implementation
The chat tests made it clear that the mathematical content was easy to process automatically. However, we saw a high level of complexity in the language of students that was revealed to be more complicated the longer we ran the tests. To counter this, we tested an input method based on multiple choices instead of text input.
