Important results from the project
The purpose was to expanded the test infrastructure to more building types/functions/actors. Objectives: creating routines, documentation and installing technical infrastructure to be able to carry out projects in different buildings. Results: (1) KTH LIL has gone from one testbed to becoming a platform of multiple testbeds; (2) tests / research can be performed simultaneously in the different testbeds, or in different successive tests in different environments; (3) a server for the collection, handling and visualization of data from all testbeds has been installed at KTH.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in (1) All documents, strategies, website have been updated and revised; (2) Test and research strategies have been updated. Offers, financing options have been revised; (3) A server for data collection, management and visualization installed at KTH. To which Testbed KTH has been linked, the integration of the other testbeds are in progress, expected to be finished in early October 2019; (4) Agreements did not need to be revised, those drawn up by KTH´s lawyers are judged to be well-tuned and secure.
Approach and implementation
The project had a steering group and a working group. The working group has identified needs, technical systems and developed strategies for implementation that the steering group has since approved. The project has required the involvement of external parties who have designed the existing building control systems in the buildings, as well as expertise from KTH´s IT department. Two project managers, one from KTH and one from Schneider Electric, have driven the project forward, in collaboration with all other project partners.
