Important results from the project
The goal was to create increased understanding and develop new working methods that lead to lasting changes in how organizations think and act regarding competence-related issues. We see that the concept of competence provision needs to be "unpacked" to make its complexity visible. Moving from words to action together with actors you have built trust with is also a key to ensuring competence provision. In the project, a collaboration model has been used, which will now be further developed.
Expected long term effects
In the longer term, this can create more attractive employers and stronger relationships both between companies within the industry and with industry organizations, in order to establish an attractive metal industry and appealing geographic locations. The collaboration model that we have used and further developed will now be applied to both education and continued collaboration projects between industry and the public sector, with the aim of influencing long-term competence provision.
Approach and implementation
The project is designed to stimulate action and reflection among participants through discussions and feedback. Our chosen approach means that the entire project group – researchers as well as representatives from industry organizations and companies – works in learning cycles, where we meet approximately every four months for so-called learning workshops. In between, each project partner works on their own development tasks and “homework” related to the project’s objectives.
