Important results from the project

The overall aim of the project is to produce a knowledge overview that will provide a basis for Vinnova’s assignment to prepare for the implementation of a competence leap for climate transition. The aim can be specified in two sub-aims: 1. To describe the state of knowledge of the needs and conditions for increasing competence for climate transition in companies. 2. To identify knowledge gaps regarding the implementation of competence-increasing initiatives that can have an effect within companies.

Expected long term effects

The outcome of the project is in the form of a knowledge overview (report) which provides a basis for Vinnova´s government mission to prepare the implementation of a competence leap for climate change. The report focuses on international research with the aim of clarifying concepts, describing the state of knowledge, giving interesting examples and showing the needs and conditions for skill enhancement for climate change in companies. Finally, seven areas of action are summarized that can guide a competence leap for climate change in industrial companies.

Approach and implementation

The method for identifying relevant literature for this knowledge review has had similarities with a systematic literature review. We have used a search strategy where we included a wider selection of literature, i.e. not only included scientific articles but also conference contributions, books, book chapters and so-called grey literature (reports from authorities and national and international organizations).

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
