Important results from the project
The overall purpose of the KMP project has been to adapt, develop and integrate tools, processes and skills needed to initiate and manage development processes for enhancing the University´s capabilities for promoting collaboration and utilization of research. The analysis and evaluations carried out within the project have been packaged in the form of deliverables, presentation material and reports which establish a toolbox for Swedish universities and others to take part of in the endeavour for greater social responsibility and development of academic environments.
Expected long term effects
The KMP project has been a process to develop the University of Gothenburg to promote the utilization and management of research results in collaboration relationships. The ambition has been that the project will also contribute to a similar development at other universities within Sweden. The outcome of the project can be summarized as a model for collaboration and utilization of research that builds on the academic environments themselves rather than in the external innovation system, thus representing a model based on the aspiration to take greater a social responsibility.
Approach and implementation
The project has as an overarching objective, to initiate a development processes to enhance the capabilities of the University to undertake greater responsibility for collaboration and utilization of research results. The intention is to create a learning around what integration of research, education and collaboration/utilization might mean and entail in practice. Great importance has been given to implementing structured analyses and assessments in order to establish a basis for a reasoned academic learning process.
