Important results from the project
The objective of the telemedicine testbed is to create better, more effective and useful telemedicine products and services for healthcare. To achieve this, the testbed offers services that support the development from idea to product, eg various forms of testing and evaluation, in different environments, of ideas, concepts, prototypes. Services include structures and models for collaboration with external stakeholders, eg partnerships or projects. Partnerships provide business associates a clear and qualified support for development, from idea to product.
Expected long term effects
The telemedicine testbed has, through Vinnova funding, built an infrastructure that is currently used in various projects and partnerships at Innovationsplatsen. Through methods, processes and services, we can, together with our external partners, more effectively take an idea to be develop into a useful product or service for healthcare. Our services make clear to our partners what is important and how we effectively can reach the best possible outcome by meeting healthcare needs.
Approach and implementation
The project has been both easy and difficult to implement. It has been easy since no external parties has been involved in the project, instead Karolinska has been able to choose skills that are required over time. This has made the work process more efficient and made it possible to build up the infrastructure testbed based on needs identified iteratively. At the same time, it has been difficult since the initial project proposal was very broad and included basically everything. It would not have been possible to keep the level of ambition without Innovationsplatsen.
