Important results from the project
The project´s goal was to develop and analyse sustainable lightweight materials based upon jute composites applied to Automotive industry.
Expected long term effects
JuteLight project has resulted in great progress for Juteborg AB. The project has, on a scientific basis, verified the natural fiber of jutes great potential of fiber reinforcement in various types of composites for the automotive industry.
Approach and implementation
Juteborg AB was the initiator and project manager and responsible for relations with the parties in Bangladesh. Volvo Cars has been responisble for specifying the customer requirements and the economical analysis. The Engineering School of Borås and SwereaSICOMP has conducted the research. Swerea SICOMP has also written the final report regarding the detailed research results.
