Important results from the project

The project defined 20+ JUST metadata categories for data annotation processes with a focus on gender equity, data bias, provenance and transparency. It developed a beta version of a digital system, guidelines for industry actors, and built a network of partners by engaging with the Health Data Innovation Platform, AI Factory – Revolution, Space Data Lab 3.0, GoCo Health Innovation City and Linköping Science Park. A white paper was published on data documentation for JUST Data practices.

Expected long term effects

Commitment from the health sector to carry forward JUST Data strategies, can lead to more equitable, ethical and reliable data for use in health applications. Adoption by the Swedish data labs dealing with space, mining, railways, steel and construction, can result in a future standard for industry. This can strengthen the positioning of Swedish business in new markets for AI alignment solutions, data governance, data management certification and in EU policy.

Approach and implementation

The project prioritised creating partnerships with the Swedish industry data labs and industrial clusters to support JUST Data activities. The uptake was higher than expected. The first testbed was hosted at GoCo Health Innovation City and immediately onboarded the health sector. The second was hosted at Linköping Science Park with delegates from across industrial domains. To transfer knowledge, a GitHub repository, guidelines, 72 videos and a white paper were produced.
