Important results from the project
Through collaboration and joint efforts in Jönköping County, the project has completed a procurement of a long-term IoT platform for use by Region Jönköping County, the County Administrative Board, the county´s 13 municipalities and 40 municipal companies and municipal associations. The project has also tested around 30 different IoT applications and developed forms for management and cooperation between the municipalities and other constituent organizations in the county, as well as enabling the sharing of applications, knowledge and experience.
Expected long term effects
The project has laid the foundation for a long-term IoT investment in Jönköping County and developed a county-wide management-organization connected to the IoT platform, as well as established working groups and collaboration forums at different levels for continued joint progress in the county. This work is expected to form the basis for spreading and scaling up applications to more municipalities and organizations in the future. The project has also developed a website as a basis for spreading knowledge and the continued IoT work in the county: www.iotjonkopingslan.se.
Approach and implementation
The project has been conducted in the form of a main project with sub-projects in the participating municipalities. In the main project, the work has been led by a main project group that drove the project forward and produced decision-making material for a steering group. In the sub-projects, IoT applications have been tested and reported to the main project. A success in the project has been that the municipalities have been involved, from operational work to decision-making, and that the universities have been able to contribute knowledge in both the overall and operational aspects.
