Important results from the project

The main goal of the project was to finalise a minimum viable AI product as a Web service that allows interested parties to try out Algoriffix’ note recognition and musical analysis in a quick and easy manner with the purpose of generating leads. The Web service was furnished with an option to buy a monthly or yearly subscription directly through the Web site, providing users with access to a bouquet of features that match their individual needs. The core algorithms were further improved and extended with the help of two prominent professors of music theory, and a patent application was filed.

Expected long term effects

With the brand-new Web service put in place, we will intensify our initial outreach efforts towards teachers and creatives in the music space, both in Sweden and abroad. We already started to collaborate with a private music school and the feedback was very positive and encouraging, sparking new ideas how artificial creativity can help motivate students. We plan to create more audio-visual content, collect more feedback and user data, and grow our audience. The Web service will also help us showcase the algorithms to potential investors.

Approach and implementation

In the planning phase, the project was broken down into several work items as a starting point. As we employed agile practices for software development, during the project, certain milestones had to be moved or replaced by others and some deliverables postponed. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, technical resources had to be reallocated, which had a negative impact on some target dates. Other circumstances, such as a pregnancy, also lead to a reprioritisation of the work items. All in all, with a concentrated effort of the whole team, all project goals were largely achieved.
