Important results from the project
The main activities of the Swedish consortium led by KTH have been focused on allowing seamless traceability and impact analysis of functional and safety properties for Scania’s software development environments. KTH initiated a tight cooperation with Scania and the SME FindOut which resulted in joint methodologies and software developments across our organizations. Based on these technologies, we also initiated cooperation with German partners, promoted these results in standardization bodies (OASIS/OSLC), and strongly contributed to the open-source OSLC eco-system.
Expected long term effects
Our main results are the following: joint development of methodologies and software tools; strong internal dissemination within Scania of these results for promoting a new platform for software development to be potentially deployed in Scania’s business units; the promotion of results in Swedish public dissemination events; the establishment of new business contracts between Scania and FindOut; the fostering of resource mobility between KTH and Scania; the incubation of a new Swedish start-up; and the publication of articles in international journals and conferences.
Approach and implementation
The implementation of our Swedish joint activities (between KTH, FindOut and Scania) has been mainly driven by the industrial integration challenges elicited by Scania. From these requirements, new methodologies and software tools have been jointly developed. As work-package leader, we also initiated new joint demonstrators within the project, and made sure that these results reached (and will continue to reach) external communities beyond the project consortium (in particular, within OSLC/OASIS standardization body and the ARTEMIS-IA Working Group on Standardization).
