Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to have an in-depth IP strategy prepared which, based on the APR Technologies business plan, ensures that the intangible assets are secured at present and in the future. The following sub-goals have been included: Inventory of non-physical assets in the company. Inventory of competitors´ registered rights. Improved strategy for capturing ideas that can lead to innovations within the company. Improved strategy for brand building. Clearer positioning towards competitors. Improved handling of trade secrets.

Expected long term effects

The project has resulted in a draft IP strategy plan, identifying a number of points where it is desirable to strengthen protection in the short and medium term. The work is expected to strengthen APR´s intangible protection in the short term. An in-depth IP strategy contributes to sharpening the company´s intellectual property assets and protection, improves the company´s competitiveness and provides increased opportunities to attract capital. A well-developed IP strategy is a great asset for our company´s continued development.

Approach and implementation

The project has included three parts. A) Analysis and summary of the company´s strategically most important intangible assets, including brands, as well as a review of the company´s routines for handling trade secrets and know-how. B) Identification of the most difficult competitors, their registered rights, and of commercially interesting opportunities. C) Development of strategies for managing the company´s intangible assets, brand building, design protection, patent strategy, and improved procedures for handling trade secrets. The project has consisted of three parts.
