Important results from the project
The purpose of the planning grant was to establish and develop a detailed and comprehensive plan for the later VINNMER Incoming proposal. The planned visit has taken place during 7-15 of December. During the visit the future host organization (Lund University) and industrial partners (Sandvik Coromant AB and SECO Tools AB) were visited. Productive discussions and the decision to go for the VINNMER Incoming grant have been taken.
Expected long term effects
As a result of the planning grant an application for the Incoming Grant has been discussed, coordinated and completed. The full version of the application written by Vyacheslav Kryzhanivskyy has been communicated Lund University and approved. This version is currently awaiting the approval and the support letters from the industrial partners, because SECO Tools preliminary agreed to provide an internship.
Approach and implementation
The project was carefully planned and therefore it was smoothly implemented. One full day meeting was carried at Sandvik Coromant and later another full day of discussion was at SECO Tools. Vyacheslav Kryzhanivskyy was accompanied by the future supervisor Professor Jan-Eric Ståhl and Docent Volodymyr Bushlya, both from Lund University. Active involvement of the host and industrial partners allowed making decisions on-site. The plan was refined still during the visit back at Lund University.
