Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** A prototype system that shows the benefits of interaction design in industry has been developed with positive response from industry partners. Due to current pandemic restrictions, the work has been moved from interviews and on-site observations to surveys and online interviews. To further develop the system, deeper knowledge of the users needs and work situation and the opportunity to evaluation user experience in a production environment is required. These extended studies are part of a planned continuation of the project.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The result from this project consists primarily of two different parts that link to the project´s aim (1) Prototypes of interfaces based on the operators work situation have been created. These prototypes have been presented to the project´s industrial partner with positive feedback. In addition (2) a survey with the aim of creating an understanding of the operator´s work situation. The results from this sub-project showed that depending on the complexity of the tasks, the work becomes more or less specialized, or in other words repetetive .
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The study was conducted in two parallel subprojects where the method differs but is linked around the Design Thinking process - (1) The prototypes have been created by parallel prototype development and knowledge from observations has been used in this work, (2) To create understanding of The operators´ situation has used a combination of observations, a survey based on Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI) and interviews. Pandemic restrictions have made it difficult to interact with industrial partners, involving another industrial partner.
