Important results from the project
The project has combined natural language processing (NLP) with domain-specific knowledge (parts of mathematics) in order to make automatic assistants in mathematics learning possible.
Expected long term effects
3 technical parts have been built: 1) API for the interpretation of language, 2) adaptation of domain-specific knowledge (mathematics) to the language technology and 3) integration between (1) and (2). A prototype that can be adapted and combined with existing solutions has been created.
Approach and implementation
The project has focused on achieving a natural integration between language technology and domain-specific knowledge (mathematics), as this has been judged to be the single most important component for well-functioning assistants. This project has created such a possible integration.
