Important results from the project
The target with the project is to develop a lift equipment that helps operator to load/unload containers. With this equipment a container can be loaded/unloaded faster and in a more ergonomic way. Operators that work with this often suffer from repetitive strain injuries. Also, many trucks are only filled up to only 50%. With our equipment the containers can be loaded up to the ceiling in an ergonomic way without risk for injuries. Transport companies can increase the cargo volume which reduces number of trucks on the road - positive for the environment.
Expected long term effects
After extensive testing using prototypes and continuous discussions and meetings with users we feel that we have achieved our targets with this project.
Approach and implementation
The development of the project were as follows: Pre study User studies and observations of the end user. Technical research - we have seen over competitors´ solutions and other interesting existing products / materials / processes regarding the desired functionality and solutions related to loading/unloading containers. Conceptual phase A number of different concepts were developed and evaluated . Design and construction phase Prototyping Tests and cost have been continuously made .
